Educational Homogamy and Inequality of Caring Time

Abstract
The purpose of this study is that the resources owned by the parent result inequality in the caring time focusing homogamy. To this ends, this study analyzes caring time of a couple of less than 60 years olds with children through Korean Time Use Survey 2009. The results are as follows. First, couple with high educated homogamy takes care of their children than low educated homogamy 100 minutes a day more. Second, high educated homogamy is the cause of increasing the caring time. Conversely low educated homogamy reduces the caring time. And this inequality of caring time is more pronounced in the time associated with the development of the child. Based on these results, this study suggests the time maintenance policy such as care time guarantee policy, the activation of the program such as couples communication and parent education.
